OFI survived in Lamia, where another loss would be disastrous. But although the Cretans got ahead in the score, they didn’t secure their first victory of this season, in the 6th Round of the Greek Super League.
After 62 minutes, it was the Argentinean trequartista, Juan Neira that scored his 3rd goal this year with a lucky bounce of the ball (0-1).
Lamia, went all out to equalize and got a penalty in the 78th minute with the former AC Milan wonderkid from Morocco, Hachim Mastour. Argentinean Jerónimo Barrales found the back of the net and 1-1 was the final score.
Both teams are struggling this year and are still looking for their first win.
Next challenge for OFI Crete is against the title contenders, Olympiakos (Sunday 21/10 - 20.30).
But the big news are coming from outside the pitch, as the Greek American businessman, Michael Bousis is officially the new owner of the Club. And this Wednesday (10/10) the new board will form and the role of the OFI legends, Ilias Poursanidis and Giannis and Georgios Samaras is yet to be announced. Better days are coming for the Cretans!
