Disappointing OFI lost fifth place (video)

OFI Crete - Aris Salonica 0-1

Aris quickly took the lead in Heraklion.

With 14 minutes on the clock, Fetfatzidis completed a wonderful pass move on the right wing, sliding his ensuing low effort beyond the opposing goalkeeper into the far corner.

Competing with the initiative, Aris created a series of promising chances during the first half, with Bruno Gama particularly lively for the visitors.

Nevertheless, OFI increased their intensity in the second half, and they earned a golden opportunity to get back on level terms in the 53rd minute after Figueiredo was fouled in the area.

However, Julian Cuesta came to the rescue for Aris, expertly saving Figueiredo’s underwhelming penalty. Figueiredo would later come close for OFI again as his powerful attempt struck the left post.

The 24-year-old Brazilian forward was subsequently sent off with a second yellow card in stoppage time as OFI ran out of steam.
