In Heraklion, goals and entertainment were in extremely short supply as OFI Crete and Xanthi played out a 0-0 draw in what was the debut of the home side’s new coach Jaime Vera.
There was little to choose between the two teams, although the hosts produced a better performance in comparison with their recent form. However, this was a match low on quality and in which defence was on top.
The 55-year-old Chilean Vera would have been reasonably pleased with his players’ efforts though, since Xanthi are still a tough prospect and are much higher up the table.
