Atromitos’ poor recent run of form continued on Thursday as the Peristeri outfit were held to a 1-1 draw at lowly OFI Crete in Heraklion.
In-form striker Efthimis Koulouris was again on target for Damir Canadi’s Atromitos, opening the scoring after 33 minutes to give the visitors the perfect platform to go on an try to win the match.
But the home side rallied and were level just four minutes later thanks to Juan Neira’s goal which earned the Cretans a vital point in their battle against the drop.
OFI remain in 14th place, hovering just four points above the Levadiakos who occupy the second relegation spot above basement boys Apollon Smyrnis.
For Atromitos, it represented their fifth successive game without a win, with their last three-point haul being a 4-2 win over Aris back on Matchday 13.
It’s the kind of form which has seen them slip out of contention in the title race, and they remain in fourth place now 20 points adrift of leaders PAOK.
