Earlier on Sunday, Panionios had conceded a 2-0 loss to AE Larissa, meaning that Panetolikos have now climbed off the foot of the standings. OFI remain fourth.
Putting on a show for their fans, Asteras scored five goals in a confident 5-0 beating of struggling Xanthi, while Panathinaikos and Aris, both locked on 22 points each, played to a 0-0 draw in Athens.
