AEK moved back into third place of the Super League with a thumping victory against Panionios at the Olympic Stadium, while Olympiacos and PAOK both won at the top of the table.

AEK are back to winning ways. Having not won since early November, AEK were in desperate need of a victory on Saturday against Panionios and they duly obliged with an emphatic 5-0 triumph. Nelson Oliveira secured an impressive hat trick, before Daniele Verde and Petros Mantalos added gloss to the win with excellent goals. On Sunday, it was subsequently confirmed that Massimo Carrera has replaced Nikos Kostenoglou as the AEK boss.

This marked Panionios’ first Super League loss since October 27.

In Thessaloniki, PAOK had real trouble breaking down a stubborn Xanthi side, but two late goals from Diego Biseswar and Jose Angel Crespo eventually earned a 2-0 victory. PAOK had three goals disallowed for offside while smacking the woodwork on four occasions.

Elsewhere, fellow leaders Olympiacos made sure that they kept pace with PAOK, easing past strugglers Panetolikos 3-0 in Agrinio with three goals from Daniel Podence and Youssef El Arabi (2). Panetolikos, however, remain the only Super League side yet to register a single victory in the current campaign as they languish in last place with only four points on the board.

On Sunday, OFI had the chance to overtake AEK and move into third position again, but they contrived to concede a 2-1 loss to Lamia on the road. Lamia, for their part, are rapidly gaining traction as they extended their unbeaten streak to five games. Four of those five matches have ended in Lamia victories.

In Peristeri, Atromitos and Aris engaged in a pulsating duel, with the visitors equalising in stoppage time to salvage a 2-2 draw. Panathinaikos were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw at Volos NFC on Sunday, while fourth-placed AE Larissa claimed a point in a tricky away game against Asteras Tripolis.
