EPO EAGER TO HOST EUROPA CONFERENCE LEAGUE FINAL
The Hellenic Football Federation (EPO) is eager to host the final of the UEFA Europa Conference League in either 2022 or 2023, while FIFA sent a letter to the organisation concerning the financial situation.
According to Sport FM, the EPO accepts that the joint bit to host UEFA Euro 2028 with Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia will not go ahead, so the organisation has now decided to make a bid to host the Europa Conference League final in either 2022 or 2023.
Deputy Minister of Sport, Lefteris Avgenakis, wants the match to be played at the Pankritio Stadium in Heraklion, Crete.
The UEFA Europa Conference League, set to be introduced in 2021, will be a third-tier continental competition under the Champions League and Europa League.
